The year 2019 is coming to an end, but the Canon schedule is advance with new year kick off with new EOS R series and RF lenses with a busy schedules. The latest camera newsletter states that the Canon EOS Rs will be rolled out in the beginning of February 2020, now the click lovers hear the news of the official trailer to the Canon EOS R camera will be made available before Photokina tradeshow in May 2020 badged Canon EOS R Mark II.
With the original Canon EOS R system released in the October 2018, the new version is a faster turn around for the Mark II – specially when you think and considering the fact that the Canon EOS Rs is being released just few months before the Mark II. Does this faster upgrade means less faith or complaints about the original EOS R?
Some complaints were told about the EOS R’s availability of dual card slots for memory storage. Also the non availability of in-body image stabilization is a drawback compared to Nikon Z series. So this might be the reason for a faster upgrade to Mark II for overcoming these drawbacks. Still these queries did not give an explanation why Canon will make an announcement of two top-spec mirrorless cameras in a short span.
The news that the Canon EOS R Mark II is due to be published in the market before Photokina tradeshow. The news first shown on rumor website Canon Rumors. The news reports that “the follow-up to the original Canon EOS R is under testing by a small group of professionals from Canon”
Canon Rumors’ infosource also reports that”the Canon EOS R Mark II to be released and announced ahead of Photokina tradeshow in May 2020. This version will show close specifications of the Canon EOS Rs, which is expected to be the next EOS R body and announcement will come in the first quarter of 2020″.
All photography enthusiasts wait for a Canon release of high-end EOS R that is video focused. Since most of the Canon are coming with cropped 4K videos rather than the uncropped.
Probably Canon EOS R Mark II may come with 36MP sensor and dual card slot for the upgrade version 2, while the Canon EOS Rs will be coming with a high tech 75MP sensor and dual memory slot aimed at professional photographers.
Either way, we can wait curiously for two three months for Canon official announcement of EOS R’s original release date.
